Pedro Rodriguez Domecq has resigned from his post as president of Mexico-based, Latin American distributor NuVision.

Domecq's resignation comes amid reports that NuVision and sister production company Altavista have both been cutting staff following slow returns and less than successful productions since last year's Love's A Bitch (Amores Perros).

Federico Gonzalez Compean, co founder of parent company Estudio Mexico Films, will take over his responsibilities.

Last year NuVision reported sales of $30m, up from $5m in 1999 - its first full year of operation. It is set to launch US distribution operations later this year with an average release slate of six to eight films a year.
