UK pay-TV company ONdigital has reached its end of 2000 target of one million subscribers, the company announced on Wednesday.

ONdigital said it was on track for two million subscribers in two years but pledged to reduce its churn - the number of customers not renewing their contracts. The broadcaster aims for its churn to stay between 15% and 20% until its customer base becomes more settled.

ONdigital's rival BSkyB has more than 4.95 million subscribers and a churn rate of less than 10%. Two-year-old ONdigital said it had broken the one million subscriber mark faster than the satellite broadcaster.
