Chris Blackwell's Palm Pictures has acquired US and Canadian rights to Scratch, the hip-hop documentary directed by Doug Pray which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Intermedia bought international rights to the film, which documents the history of today's turntablist movement, after Sundance. Featured in the documentary are iconic DJs including Q-Bert, DJ Shadow, MixMaster Mike and Cut Chemist.

The Palm deal was clinched by producer Brad Blondheim, producers' rep Jeff Dowd and attorney Irwin Rappaport with Blackwell and Palm head of acquisitions and production David Koh

Blackwell's entertainment group releases films theatrically through Palm, on video and DVD through Ryko and streamlined on the web via sputnik7.com. The company recently released award-winning documentary Dark Days.
