After news this week that Gwyneth Paltrow had pulled out of David O'Russell's forthcoming I Love Huckabee's, casting has been confirmed with French doyenne Catherine Deneuve set to topline alongside Dustin Hoffman.

The film, which also stars Jude Law, Mark Wahlberg and Naomi Watts, will begin shooting in Los Angeles in early June.

Previously titled The Existential Detective, O'Russell's film - which he also wrote and is producing - focuses on a couple of married detectives (Hoffman and Deneuve) who attempt to work out the problems of the three young co-leads who are embroiled in a love triangle.

Lily Tomlin and Jason Schwartzman round out the cast of the $20m film produced by Fox Searchlight and co-financed with Michael Kuhn's Qwerty Films. Searchlight will release the film in North and Latin America, Italy, Germany and most English-speaking territories.
