Pandora, the internationalsales arm of Gaylord Films, has acquired international sales rights to JohnSayles' latest film Casa De Los Babys from IFC Productions.

Pandora's executivevice president of worldwide sales Shebnem Askin will show footage of the filmto buyers at Cannes next month; the film is being positioned for theVenice/Toronto festival season.

Casa De Los Babys is the story of six American women who travel toSouth America to adopt babies and are forced by law to live there. IFC Filmshas North American distribution rights.

Like Sayles' 1997 filmMen With Guns, the film is inboth the English and Spanish languages, predominantly English. The women areplayed by Daryl Hannah, Marcia Gay Harden, Mary Steenburgen, Lili Taylor,Maggie Gyllenhaal and Susan Lynch. Rita Moreno and Pedro Armendariz also star.

Casa De Los Babys is the latest production from New York-based IFCProductions which has produced such hits as Boys Don't Cry, Girlfight and Monsoon Wedding and, as 50% shareholder and backer of digitalfilm-making initiative InDigEnt, titles such as Personal Velocity, Tadpole and Pieces Of April. Currently in pre-production is Rose And TheSnake starring Daniel Day-Lewis anddirected by Rebecca Miller.

As well as Casa De LosBabys, IFC Films will this yeardistribute another in-house production Camp, Catherine Breillat's Sex Is Comedy and Kristian Levring's The Intended among others.

Since being acquired byGaylord Films, Pandora has sold titles produced in conjunction with Warner Brossuch as White Oleander, A Walk To Remember and Welcome To Collinwood as well as pick-ups like the Polish Brothers' Northfork and Thaddeus O'Sullivan's The HeartOf Me.
