The inauguralGlobal Peace Film Festival, which will take place in Orlando, Florida, from Dec10 to 14 has unveiled its lineup.

The openingnight film is PeaceJam,the US documentary directed by Dennis Flippin which follows five teens over asix-year period as they face the realities of growing up in the USA today whileworking alongside Nobel Peace Prize Laureates such as the Dalai Lama,Archbishop Desmond Tutu and President Oscar Arias.

The festivalcloses with Paul Feig's I Am David adapted from Anne Holm's novel North To Freedom and starring Jim Caviezel and JoanPlowright. The film was produced by Cary Granat's Walden Media.

10 feature films, 22 documentaries and 23 shorts willscreen at the festival whose programme is divided up into four thematic areas:War And Peace, Community, Family and The Middle East. A fifth section will bemade up of Films Of Conflict And Resolution, a selection of the films from the2003 Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF), programmed by HIFF.

A juriedcompetition of selected films includes actor Giancarlo Esposito, DebbieZimmerman (executive director of Women Making Movies), Ralph Clemente(actor/producer & director of film programme at Valencia College) and JamesBond III (actor/director/producer/distributor).

The festival wasfounded by Shaikh Abdul Taw'ala Ibn Ali Alishtari, president and CEO ofGlobalProtector.net Inc, with the mission of using film to furthur peace onearth. The festival's executive director is Nina Streich, with Carol Taylor thefestival director and Prudence Hill programmer.
