Sean Penn will receive the Hollywood Film Festival’s Hollywood Humanitarian Award at the Hollywood Awards gala on October 25.

The award recognises Penn’s work to alleviate suffering in Haiti.

Prior recipients include Father Rick Frechette, th director of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos, Nobel Peace Prize recipient and President of East Timor, Dr Jose Ramos Horta, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jody Williams.
