UK actors Paul Rhys, Allan Corduner and Lindsay Duncan have joined the cast of Spanish director Ventura Pons' English-language debut, Food Of Love.

Shooting in August, Love will be the third film from new Barcelona-based production and sales outfit 42nd Street Productions, backed by German facilities giant Das Werk. The first two titles, thriller Fausto 5.0 and comedy Dirty Harry Vivancos (Vivancos El Sucio), are slated for a fall release.

42nd Street CEO Thomas Spieker and newly-appointed head of international sales and marketing Olaf de Boer are in Cannes promoting their first-year slate, which also includes actress Silvia Tortosa's directorial debut, Naked Night (La Noche Desnuda).

Germany's FFP Entertainment has signed on as minority co-producer and will take all German rights to the Euros 2.4m Love. Based on David Leavitt's novel The Page Turner, the film tells the story of Paul, a music student who embarks on a gay love affair with a concert pianist. Casting is still underway in the UK for the role of Paul. Via Digital has pay-TV rights in Spain.
