Walt Disney Television International (WDTV-I) yesterday (Nov 27) launched the 15th international version of its Disney Channel, when it started broadcasting in Portugal.

"We launched the first ever international Disney Channel six years ago and all of the Channels have been incredibly successful in connecting the Disney brand to kids and families on a local level," said WDTV-I president, David Hulbert.

"Portugal is our fifteenth international Disney Channel and I am pleased that viewers in Portugal can now join our other 10 million subscribers in Europe and enjoy and interact with their own tailored Portuguese Disney Channel."

Broadcasts began with the Portuguese TV premiere of Toy Story.
