Rai Trade has made a raft of sales at MIFED on cult directorDario Argento's upcoming film, Do You Like Hitchcock'.

Argento's thriller, which is currently in post-production,has been made specifically for the TV, DVD and video markets. Under a projectmasterminded by Argento himself, Do You Like Hitchcock will be part of aseries of seven detective stories that are to be made by various Italian andinternational filmmakers.

Rai Trade has sold the first film, which will be deliveredin April 2005, to France (Canal Plus), the Netherlands (A-Films), Russia,Hungary and Mexico. The Rome-based sales outfit is also in talks with buyersfrom Japan and Germany. All buyers of Argento's film have an option on theother six pictures, which will be made over the course of the next two years.

Do You Like Hitchcock' is produced by Rai Trade,Spain's Istitut del Cinema Catala and Genesis Pictures, and stars Elio Germano(Respiro) and Chiara Conti (My Mother's Smile).

Meanwhile, Rai Trade has also sold three films to Australia'sPalace Pictures. The Australian outfit, which has been an active buyer ofItalian titles in recent years, has picked up Paolo Franchi's psychologicaldrama La Spettatrice, youth-oriented drama Fame Chimica byAntonio Boccola and Paolo Vari; and Come Inguiammo il Cinema Italiano, acomedy by Sicilian duo Daniele Cipri and Franco Maresco.
