Well put, Paul. The situtation might improve if someone can involve Danny in building meaningful access routes for emerging writers. This would increase variety, including BBC distinctiveness (that Ofcom found lacking only recently), and increase choices for producers and commissioners. We all know what needs to be done: open competitions, workshops, including online so the whole country can have a go. BBC Writer's Room is a start, but there is so much more we can do...
