Joshua Bowman is about to become well-known in the US, and he would like to repeat that in the UK.

The Windsor-born 23-year-old decamped to New York in 2008 to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre, and his only notable work in the UK has been a story on medical soap Holby City. In Los Angeles, however, he has shot a stunning role in The Weinstein Company’s upcoming So Undercover opposite Miley Cyrus, due for an October release through The Weinstein Company; a couple of indie features; and Revenge, a high-profile prime-time series for ABC due to air in September, directed by Philip Noyce. With the pilot in the can and the series commissioned, this Hamptons-set revenge drama based loosely on The Count Of Monte Cristo will raise Bowman’s profile substantially. “I really want to do some good work in England as well,” he says. “Going to the US has taken me out of my comfort zone; I went there because I thought they’d give me a shot, and they have. And I love it, but I’m English at heart and I never forget that.”
