UK distributor Revolver has struck a unique marketing deal with publisher Pan MacMillan.

The companies will work together on film releases and book tie-ins.

Revolver's forthcoming release My Brother Is An Only Child by Daniele Luchetti is based on Antonio Pennacchi's Il fasciocomunista. Each will be released (in cinemas and bookstores) on April 4.

Revolver Entertainment head Justin Marciano said: 'This new partnership will allow us to call on Pan Macmillan's extensive knowledge and contacts with booksellers. The pay off for them is having the book marketed at the very same time through theatrical and DVD release of the film.'

Revolver has experience in the book arena, timing its hit DVD release of Richard Pryor The Ultimate Collection with the publication of his biography Pryor Convictions.

Other titles the companies plan to work on jointly include Jean Paul Salome's Women in Shadows (Les Femmes de L'ombre).

Added Ed Ripley of Pan MacMillan: 'Our new partnership with Revolver allows us the luxury of working hand in hand with a UK film distributor from day one of a project. We've seen this model work very well for US companies like Miramax and wanted to test the water here in the UK where film/book tie-ins are under-exploited.'
