New York-based RialtoPictures has acquired theatrical rights to four classic titles from Paris-basedArgos Films and will kick off with the release of Robert Bresson's acclaimed1966 drama Au Hasard Balthazar atNew York's Film Forum on Oct 17.

Au Hasard Balthazar, an allegorical musing on saintliness, willsubsequently go out on national release and is accompanied in the acquisitionpackage by its 1967 sister piece Mouchette, Jean-Luc Godard's 1966 social isolation drama Masculin Feminin, and Two Or Three Things I Know About Her, a study of social ennui that came out in 1967.

Rialto negotiated the dealwith sales agent Raphael Berdugo of Roissy Films representing Argos Films.

The last three films will bereleased in 2004 and 2005.
