British actorRichard E Grant is set to start shooting his long-gestating debut as awriter-director, Wah-Wah.

Theautobiographical tale of growing up in South Africa is expected to starNicholas Hoult from About A Boy as the young Grant. Also likely to appearare Emily Watson and Miranda Richardson.

UK-based salesoutfit The Works is understood to be selling the project, which is reportedlyto shoot this summer as a co-production between Marie-Castille Mention-Scharrof France, the UK and South Africa.

The Works isgiving market debuts to Cannes Competition title The Consequences Of Loveand the tentatively titled Love And Hate, a tale of young love against abackdrop of racial tension from rising British director Dominic Savage.

Another recentaddition to Works' slate is Guy X, a black comedy starring Jason Biggsfrom another well-regarded new British director, Saul Metzstein.
