Shortly after announcing it had acquired Soeur Sourire; Roissy Films has closed sales with Canada andSwitzerland.

The Stijn Coninx picture from Ocean Films’ Eric Heumann and Marc Silam was picked up by Canada’s Seville and Switzerland’s Xenix, Roissy’s Yohann Comte told ScreenDaily.

The film stars Cecile de France in the true story of Jeannine Deckers, a Belgian nun known in English as The Singing Nun. Deckers became an international phenomenon with a song she released in 1963 called “Dominique”. She also went on to be the inspiration for Sally Field’s TheFlying Nun in the popular TV series.

Soeur Sourire will have its market premiere in Cannes and is being released by Ocean in France on April 29.
