RomeFilmFest has announcedsome of the films selected for its Extra section, which presents innovativeworks across formats and genres.

The Extra programme willinclude fictional features, animations, documentaries, filmed concerts,innovative TV works, a tribute to the Tribeca FilmFestival in New York, andspecial events and workshops.

Films will include AJSchnack's Kurt Cobain About A Son, Deborah Scranton's The War Tapes, Zhang Yimou's RidingAlone For Thousands Of Miles, Corrado Guzzanti's Fascisti Su Marte, the Beastie Boys documentary Awesome; I Fuckin Shot That!, as Sartoria Tirelli - Vestire il Cinema, and Doug Biro and Jon Fine's Herbie Hancock: Possibilities.

The section will also screen several scenes from AnneFrank project Dear Anne.

'People who'll beattending Extra will come away with an idea of the new frontiers open to those creatingsomething innovative and different in the audiovisual arts," said Mario Sesti,the co-creator and co-director of the RomeFilmFest with Giorgio Gosetti.
