The InternationalFilm Festival Rotterdam is launching an experiment next week that will see itdistribute arthouse films over the internet.

Twenty formerIFFR festival hits will be available for download, including Fernando Meirellesand Nando Olival's Domesticas, Mahamat-Saleh Haroun's Abouna and Carlos Marcovich's Who The Hell Is Juliette'.

The site, www.tigeronline.nl,is being launched by internetprovider Tiscali, one of the main financers of the festival. The films can bedownloaded for a payment of Euros 3.

The IFFR, whichclaims to be the first festival to distribute titles online, intends theexperiment to be the first part in plan to create an enormous internationalonline library for arthouse titles.

The cataloguewill be expanded after this year's edition which starts on Wednesday.
