Longtime Miramax veteran Mike Rudnitsky has been namedsenior executive vice president of domestic distribution at The WeinsteinCompany.

The New York-based Rudnitsky has served eight years atMiramax and will continue to report directly to Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

He will continue his duties at Miramax on a non-exclusivebasis until the brothers' contract with the Walt Disney Company expireson Sept 30.

Rudnitsky joined Miramax in 1997 as senior vice presidentand general sales manager, and has served as senior executive vice presidentsince 1999. Prior to that he worked at Columbia Pictures and 20th Century Fox,among others.

'Mike's outstanding track record, his strongrelationships with exhibitors, and his unique understanding of how to maximisea film's box office potential, make him a fundamental part of the team we areputting together at our new company,' Bob Weinstein said.

The Weinsteins announced their slate earlier this week,which among other titles includes the Quentin Tarantino-Robert Rodriguez horrorpartnership Grind House, Mikael Hafstrom'sthriller Derailed starring CliveOwen and Jennifer Aniston, Chen Kaige epic The Promise, and Richard Shepard's buddy-movie and Sundancehit The Matador.
