Screen Producers Ireland (SPI) has announced theappointment of a new chief executive and a new chairman following their recentAGM.

DavidMcLoughlin will take over as chief executive with effect from 9 May, whileRonan McCabe has succeeded Larry Bass as chairman.

SPIrepresents over 225 independent film and television production companies inIreland, working in the areas of feature film, television, animation and newmedia.

McLoughlinis chair of the Dublin International Film Festival and will take a sabbaticalfrom his position as producer and joint CEO at Distinguished Features to workin conjunction with the SPI Board on devising and implementing policies tocreate a more favourable operating environment for SPI members.
