UK-based sales house Alibi Films International has sold a slew of international territories on its US romantic drama Secretary, including deals with Eagle Pictures for Italy and NonStop Entertainment for Scandinavia.

The film, which stars James Spader, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Lesley Ann Warren, went to LNK for Portugal, Yehmax Film for South Korea and Luxor Entertainment for Russia. Lions Gate has pencilled in a September release in North America.

Other deals on the film saw Prooptiki buy Greece and Chantier acquire Turkish rights. Terry Steiner International bought world airlines rights.

Alibi director of sales Hilary Davis is in negotiations for deals in Japan, Benelux, France, the UK, Germany and Australia/New Zealand. Davis also sold The Hard Word, formerly known as Blood And Guts, to Luxor for Russia and Prooptiki for Greece. The film, which stars Guy Pearce, is being released in Australia in May by Village Roadshow
