First-time director Hella Joof's crowd-pleasing romantic comedy Shake It All About (En Kort En Lang) heads the list of nominations for the Robert awards, a prize giving ceremony that will cap off a sparkling year for Danish film.

The film garnered 13 nominations, including best film, best direction, best actor (Mads Mikkelsen), best actress (Charlotte Munch) and best supporting actor (Troels Lyby).

As always almost all the local films that have been released have been nominated as best film, though this year's new category for Best Children's and Family Film has divided the field somewhat. Two films from Zentropa - Niels Arden Oplev's black comedy Fukssvansen (Chop Chop) and veteran Gert Fredholm's One Hand Clapping (At Klappe Med En Hand) - each got ten nominations along with children's film Send Mere Slik from Caecilia Holbek Trier. The latter is one of three Danish children's film in competition in the upcoming Kinderfilmfest in Berlin. Another, My Sister's Kids, was nominated for two awards.

This year's clear favourite among the critics, Ole Christian Kira's Reason (Madsen's En Kaerlighedshistorie), received seven nominations including best film, best director and two for its main actors Stine Steengade and Lars Mikkelsen. However, the favourite among local audiences' the romantic family film Anja & Viktor had to make do with one for best set design. This could change when the audience award is given based on votes on the internet.

Many of the above titles will have their first international screenings in Berlin, including Shake It All About (handled by Bavaria Films International), Chop Chop and One Hand Clapping (Trust Film Sales) and My Sister's Kids (Nordisk Film International Sales).
