Peng Xiaolian's Shanghai Story won four awardsincluding best picture and best director at China's leading film awards, theGolden Roosters, on Sunday night despite it not having had a wide,commercial release.

The film, about a family separated by the CulturalRevolution, also picked up best supporting actor for Feng Yuanzheng while thebest actress prize was shared between Shanghai Story's Zheng Zhenyao andZhang Ziyi in Jasmine Flower. Best actor went to Liu Ye for Foliage whichis also set against the Cultural Revolution.

Among other winners, Fang Gangliang's On The Road ToSchool won best children's picture, best directorial debut, the specialjury award and best screenplay (Zhao Dongling). Ballet For Two wasawarded best cinematography (Liang Ming) and Electric Shadows picked upbest music (Zhao Lin).

Although nominated in several categories, Zhang Yimou's HouseOf Flying Daggers was only awarded best art direction for Huo Tingxiao.

Meanwhile, Feng Xiaogang's Cell Phone won best picture, best actor for Ge You and best actress for Fan Bingbing at the accompanying Hundred Flowers Awards.

The Hundred Flowers Awards are voted for by Chinese cinemaaudiences, while the Golden Rooster Awards are selected by film critics,directors and producers. This year's ceremonies took place at Yinchuan, thecapital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
