Principal photography has startedin Dublin on The Front Line.

Directed and written byDavid Gleeson (Cowboys and Angels)and produced by Nathalie Lichtenthaeler, The Front Line has a mixed Irish and internationalcast including Eriq Ebouaney(Kingdom of Heaven), Gerard McSorley (Omagh, Veronica Guerin) and James Frain(Into the Blue, The Count of Monte Cristo).

The film tells the story amusician from the Democratic Republic of Congo whose application for asylum in Ireland has been approved. Workingas a security guard in a bank, his world is turned upside down when Dublin's underworld makes him anoffer he cannot refuse.

Front Line shoots onlocation in Dublin, for the next four weeksand then in Hamburg, Germany for a further two weeks.The production team also includes director of photography Volker Tittel (Gallipolli), production designer Jim Furlong (Cowboys and Angels) and editor Stuart Gazzard (Big Business).

The Front Line is an Irish/German/Swedish/UK coproduction produced by Wide EyeFilms. It is funded by the Irish Film Board, Film FoerderungHamburg, Film I Vaest,Eurimages and Scion.
