QuentinTarantino, Jodie Foster, Viggo Mortensen and David Cronenberg are among thehigh-profile guests expected at Catalunya's International Film Festival (Oct9-17), which kicks off on Sunday in the coastal resort town of Sitges.

The festival'sswitch back from December to its traditional October dates has helped attractthe talents, director Angel Sala told local press.

Sitges opens onSunday with Joss Whedon's Serenity and closes with Cronenberg's A History Of Violence. Sitting on the jury are director BillPlympton, journalists Elvis Mitchell and Angel Quintana, actress Nieve deMedina and choreographer Blanca Li.

A new Premieresection encompasses upcoming releases such as Foster vehicle Flightplan, native son Jaume Balaguero's CalistaFlockhart-starrer Fragile and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. Tarantino will present his production,Eli Roth's Hostel, asa special screener. Foster will receive the festival's Honorific Grand Prize.

The officialFantastic competition also includes titles like Johnnie To's Election, Park Chanwook's Sympathy For LadyVengeance, JohnFawcett's The Dark,the Quay brothers' The Piano Tuner Of Earthquakes, Werner Herzog's The Wild Blue Yonder, Takashi Miike's The Great Yokai War, Dominik Moll's Lemming, Antonio Hernandez's Oculto, Luis de la Madrid's The Nun, David Mackean's Mirrormask and Tsui Hark's Seven Swords.
