Argentinian director Juan Jose Campanella whose Son Of The Bride (El Hijo De La Novia) garnered a Best Foreign Oscar nomination last year, has launched a new film and television production company.

Called 100 Bares, the company's first project is a mini series about the cross migration of people between Spain and Argentina, to be shot in 2004.

Campanella is also developing the screenplay for what he hopes will be his next feature, fantasy comedy/drama The Falls At The End Of The Universe. Another pending project is drama feature A Respectable Woman (Una Mujer Respetable) which Campanella will produce through 100 Bares.

Campanella is currently on the third week of a 10 week shoot of dramatic comedy Avellaneda's Moon (Luna de Avellaneda) in Buenos Aires.

The $2.5m Spanish-Argentinian co production stars Ricardo Darin, who played the lead in Son Of The Bride. Los Angeles-based Menemsha Entertainment holds the international sales rights.
