Celsius will introduce Freakonomics to buyers at Cannes and will be showing footage from Morgan Spurlock’s contribution to the five segment film.
The documentary, based on Steven Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner’s influential book of the same name, also has segments directed by Alex Gibney, Eugene Jarecki, Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady.
Each director shows their own take on the issues covered in films, which include Sumo wrestling and prostitution.
Other titles on Celsius’ slate will include Phedon Papamichael’s completed thriller From Within and Vivaldi, which is in pre-production.
From Within stars Thomas Dekker, Elizabeth Rice and Adam Goldberg tells the story of the residents of an American town, which is affected by a spate of suspicious suicides.
Vivaldiis a biography of Antonio Vivaldi’s early life, when the young priest became the music teacher at a school for the illegitimate girls of Venice’s courtesans. The cast includes Joseph Fiennes, Alfred Molina and Gerard Depardieu.
