Michael Bay will receive the ShoWest 2009 Vanguard Award for
Excellence in Filmmaking at a ceremony in Las Vegas on April 2.
Bay directed this summer’s tentpole release Transformers: Revenge Of
The Fallen, the sequel to his 2007 smash Transformers.
His films have grossed more than $3bn worldwide and include Pearl
Harbor, Armageddon, The Rock, the Bad Boys films, and The Island.
ShoWest will take place from March 30-April 2.
ShoWest’s top manager Mitch Neuhauser has joined forces with the National Association Of Theatre Owners (NATO) and will act as show manager for the body’s new industry convention that launches in March 2011.
