Los Angeles-based sales, financingand production outfit Summit Entertainment has signed on as international salesagent for Atom Egoyan's latest picture Where The Truth Lies.

The film is produced byRobert Lantos and his Serendipity Point Films which has already teamed withSummit on Norman Jewison's The Statement and Istvan Szabo's Being Julia.

Based on the novel by RupertHolmes, Where The Truth Lies isscripted and directed by Egoyan and marks his first feature since Ararat in 2002. It stars Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth as acomedy duo whose rise to the top was cut short when a dead girl turned up inthe bathtub of their hotel suite. Alison Lohman plays a young journalist who approaches the two about writing abook on them.

Dubbed as a noir thriller,the film is set to start shooting on Aug 30.

Egoyan's track record as oneof Canada's leading film-makers includes two Oscar nominations for The SweetHereafter in 1997 and suchcritically acclaimed films as Family Viewing (1987), Speaking Parts (1989), The Adjuster (1991), Calendar (1993), Exotica (1994) and Felicia's Journey (1999).

Meanwhile Being Julia, which stars Annette Bening, Jeremy Irons andMichael Gambon, has its world premiere as the opening night film of the TorontoInternational Film Festival on Sept 9.
