Tartan Films,which is carving out a new theatrical market for Asian films in the UK, has bought a five picture package from Korea's CineclickAsia.

Managing director, Laura De Casto yesterday committed to a deal headed by Park Chan-Wook's Mifed favourite Old Boy. It also included H, A Tale Of TwoSisters, The Coastguard and chiller Acacia, which closed last month's Pusan festival.

Earlier during the market Tartan(formerly Metro Tartan) bought Jim Jarmusch's Coffee AndCigarettes, a feature-length compilation of old and new black and whiteshorts. At Pusan Tartan picked up another nine Asianfilms.

OldBoy, a stylish and dark thriller about a man left to discover why he hadbeen imprisoned for 15 years, sparked a rush of buyers. Cineclick,which also hopes eventually to sell remake rights, enjoyed firm bids from atleast four UK buyers including Pathe.
