British film industry veteran Nigel Glynn-Davies died on May 22, during his visit to the Cannes Film Festival.

Educated at Summerhill College and Trinity College, Dublin he had more than 24 years experience in post production, production and finance. He also was involved in the growing Indian film industry.

A s a dubbing mixer he spent a decade mixing notable documentaries and dramas for British TV including the acclaimed Dying Rooms, at GDO, the successful audio post house he co-founded.

Glynn-Davies then became a principle at Screen Ventures, where he was responsible for development and production of documentary and television projects, and distribution of a significant library of award-winning documentaries, biopics and live music concerts.

Recently, Glynn-Davies executive produced the controversial and acclaimed film Provoked starring Aishwarya Rai, Naveen Andrews and Miranda Richardson. Glynn-Davies has worked with Bollywood’s top above and below the line talent, including the iconic composer A.R. Rahman. At Crossover Capital, he set up an outsourcing post production business in India to service the films they were producing. He also orchestrated up a joint venture with idream Mumbai for sales and distribution.

He was also Chief Executive Officer of ZooCo, a media and entertainment company, and he was former CEO at Opus Media, Founder and Managing Partner at Metropolis Outpost. One colleague said: “Nigel leaves behind many colleagues and friends who will never forget his professionalism, incredible energy and enthusiasm but above all his enduring charm.”

He is survived by his wife Ali, his son Jack from a previous marriage, and step-daughters Emily and Isabella.
