The 22nd Cherbourg-Octeville Festival of Irish and British Film (March 14-20) gave its top awards to Steve Hudson's True North. The film took best film, best film voted by the student jury, and best actress for Angel Li.

The other winner was Niall Heery's Small Engine Repair, which won the audience award and best actor for Steven Mackintosh.

Bankside Films is handling sales on True North while Moviehouse is selling Small Engine Repair.

Other films in competition were 48 Angels, Ghostwood, January 2nd, and Johnny Was. The jury presidents were Aurelien Recoing and Brenda Blethyn, with jury members including Ira Trattner and Pauline McLynn.
