Having struggled to find an audience in many territories Robert Benton's drama The Human Stain has proved particularly popular in Turkey.

Although having to settle for second place on opening behind UIP's Along Came Polly, The Human Stain played at 25 fewer screens and boasted a far stronger screen average.

The film stars Anthony Hopkins, Nicole Kidman and Ed Harris and is released in Turkey by local distributor Ozen Film. It is based on the novel of the same name by Philip Roth.

Meanwhile local smash hit Vizontele Tuuba, Yilmaz Erdogan's sequel to 2001's Vizontele, re-entered the chart in third having been re-released with a special reduced ticket price.
