James Toback's Tyson and Louie Psihoyos' The Cove will share the AFI Dallas International Film Festival's closing night gala presentation spotlight on April 2.

The following day Peter Bogdanovich will receive the AFI Dallas Star Award in recognition of his career achievements in cinema.

Sony Pictures Classics holds North American rights to Tyson, Toback's documentary about the notorious former heavyweight boxing champion who offers a raw self-assessment of his life.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions hold domestic rights to The Cove, which premiered in Sundance and examines the secret slaughter of dolphins in a Japanese fishing town. The UK's The Works International holds international rights.

The directors of both documentaries will attend the screenings and take part in a Q&A afterwards.

AFI Dallas will run from March 26-April 2.
