A £3.3 million pot of film and media funding has been launched by UK regional screen agency Screen West Midlands.

The agency, which aims to attract more co-productions and features from across the globe to the region, has split the cash into production funding worth £3 million over 3 years and a development fund of £300,000 for this year alone.

"We want to strike up some deals and make sure that the money we have can be used to attract production as soon as possible," said Krysia Rozanska, chief executive officer of Screen West Midlands. "We want to get the ball rolling."

The fund is comprised of £3 million pounds of European Regional Development Funds plus sources such as the UK Film Council's lottery support. The agency is set to add a new training fund, worth £750,000, to its portfolio.
