WarnerBros opened Scooby Doo 2 in 27markets over the weekend for an estimated total of $15.5m from 3,800 screens.After two weekends on release, the film has now taken $17.7m.

Thefilm opened top in the UK, with an estimated $6.3m, more than double the secondfilm in the country The Passion Of The Christ from Icon and another family opener The Cat InThe Hat from UIP.

Scooby opened in Spain with $1.1m, in Germany with $0.52mand in Austria with $0.153m and is expected to have taken the top spot inGreece with $0.215m and South Africa where its gross of $0.267m was just 5% offthe original's opening.

InMexico, the movie took $2.5m over the weekend which is 7% higher than theoriginal film and could be the highest in the market over The Passion Of TheChrist. The final figures will beannounced tomorrow. Other strong results in Latin America included Brazil with$0.94m and Argentina with $0.19m.

Scooby also took $0.77m inAustralia and $0.23m in New Zealand.
