As Harvey and Bob Weinsteinride out their contractual term as Miramax co-chairmen under the Disneyumbrella, they have already finalised at least 13 films to be released undertheir new venture The Weinstein Company.

While the brothers areobliged to oversee all the unreleased Miramax titles in the pipeline untiltheir departure on Sept 30, they have wasted little time in assembling thefirst titles on an autonomous roster that will number between approximately 15and 20 each year.

Speaking in a conferencecall with reporters yesterday [29], Harvey Weinstein announced the inaugural slate, which comprises acquisitions, original productionsand joint ventures with Disney.

Included in the new line-upare as yet unspecified works by star Miramax directors Quentin Tarantino andRobert Rodriguez, as well as projects by two other favourite sons - AnthonyMinghella's drama Breaking And Entering, and Kevin Smith's Clerks sequel The Passion Of The Clerks.

The Weinstein Company willshare Breaking And Entering withDisney, while it will wholly ownthe Smith project and will most probably wholly own the other two.

Also included are a whollyowned four-hour NC-17 version of Kill Bill, and shared titles like the thriller Derailed starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen, and ScaryMovie 4, the latest instalment inDimension Films' smash franchise.

The brothers have beenworking hard behind the scenes to prepare the slate, and raisedeyebrows in Sundance when they seemingly shrugged aside corporate concerns to spend $7.5m on numerous territorial rights to The Matador.

Disney will keep rights to KillBill Vols 1 and 2 while the brothers take rights to the NC-17 version.
