Winchester Films has signed a deal with Columbia Picturesto co-develop and co-finance Little Homies,a family adventure movie about a group of five Brooklyn kids who find atreasure map and set about searching for the treasure underneath New York City.

Described by Winchester president Hadeel Reda as in thevein of Spy Kids, the film is beingproduced by Warren Zide of Zide/Perry Entertainment (American Pie,Final Destination). It is being written byFreddie Gutierrez, Wesley Jermaine Johnson and Scott Taylor, a trio managed byZide/Perry who have also set up the body-switching comedy Ain'tNobody Like The One I Got at MGM and whohave written for TV series The PJs.

Under the deal, Columbia will distribute the film in NorthAmerica and Winchester will handle international sales.

The film joins an expanding development slate atWinchester which also includes projects from its co-production deals with WindDancer Films such as Harv The Barbarianstarring Rob Schneider which DreamWorks will distribute domestically and withThe Donners Co such as Sam And George to star Mel Gibson which Paramount will distribute domestically.
