Wong Kar-wai's upcoming ALady From Shanghai looks set to moveinto production in the early autumn instead of an originally projected startdate of July.

StarNicole Kidman has reportedly re-confirmed her participation in the film whichwill shoot in Russia - most likely St Petersburg - and elsewhere in the west.

The film is produced byJean-Louis Piel whose credits include Birth and Ken Park. France's StudioCanal is a financial co-producer and is handling salesoutside the US and Asia.

Though no budget details arecurrently available, the film is reported to be a big production set in the1950s and revolving around a glamorous woman in danger and in love with a spy.

Sales have been healthy withmost territories gone including Germany (Concorde) and Italy (Medusa) whichpicked up the film in Cannes. The US, UK and Australian rights are stillavailable. Jet-tone, Wong Kar-wai's production company, holds Asia rights.
