Working Title Films' low budget division WT2 is set to start principal photography on The Calcium Kid, starring Orlando Bloom, who plays Legolas in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

The off-beat comedy is a mockumentary about a young milkman who is also amateur boxer and ends up fighting the world champion in his home town. Newcomer Alex De Rakoff, whose previous credits include music promos for Ice T, Space, and N-Trance, is directing from a script by himself, Raymond Friel and Derek Boyle. The film also stars Rafe Spall, Omid Djalili and David Kelly.

Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan and Richard Johns are producing, with WT2 chief Natascha Wharton executive producing. Shooting starts 2 September for six weeks in Vauxhall, London.
