Clint Eastwood's murder drama was named best picture and alsowon the group's inaugural ensemble cast award ahead of A Mighty Wind.

Meanwhile the dreamy Tokyo-set Lost In Translation earned Sophia Coppola the best directoraward as well as best actor and actress for Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson.

Andrew Jarecki's Capturing The Friedmans, an account of a family's collapseunder the burden of paedophile-related charges, won best documentary and earnedJarecki the new film-maker award.

Elsewhere Peter Sarsgaard won supporting actor honours for ShatteredGlass while PatriciaClarkson won supporting actress for her roles in Pieces Of April and The Station Agent.

SylvainChomet's French/Belgian/Canadian animated co-production The Triplets OfBelleville won the bestforeign language award. Voting took place on Dec 14.
