New feature film projects by Joe Dante, Reza Bagher, Wang Chao, Srdjan Koljevic, Sarah Polley and Luigi Falorni are among a total of 37 projects selected from 25 countries to be presented at the Berlinale Co-Production Market (Feb 11-13) which is now in its fourth year.

This year's Official Projects cover a wide range of international feature film productions with budgets between $1.3m-$9m (Euros 1m - 7m). Project manager Sonja Heinen noted that 'in content and structure they vary greatly - we believe there is something for every financial backer and co-producer who comes to our event. Of course, we have also paid attention to whether the projects are actually suitable for co-production.'

In total, 348 projects were submitted from for participation in the official selection, up from more than 300 applications for last year's event when 27 projects from 19 countries were presented.

The official selection also includes three projects being presented during the Rotterdam-Berlinale Express in cooperation with the CineMart in Rotterdam as well as Semih Kaplanoglu's Turkish-German co-production Milk under the banner of the World Cinema Market, as recommended by the World Cinema Fund.

Furthermore, the Co-Production Market will be collaborating again with the Berlinale Talent Campus to present 11 projects during this year's Talent Project Market. This section has become an insider tip, especially for producers who are looking for young directors and are interested in collaborating on the first stages of a project's development.

Apart from the pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between producers and potential co-producing partners, the event, which has been financially supported by the German regional fund MDM and the EU's MEDIA Programme, will include case studies on current financing strategies, informal 'speed matchings' and 'country tables' as well a 'breakfast & books' presentation organised in conjunction with the Frankfurt Book Fair.
