TheEuropean Film Academy is to hold a conference to debate the working conditionsof actors in Europe.

CalledShop Talk: Actors Talk AboutTheir Work, it will take place onDec 11 in Barcelona. The European FilmAwards will be held later in the evening.

The conference will beopened by Wim Wenders,president of the European Film Academy, and by the conference's patrons, theNorwegian actress and director LivUllmann and AssumptaSerna, Spanish actress and member of the EFA Board.

Starting off with the discussionActing As A Vocation, IrinaBjörklund (Shooting Star from Finland) and the British actor Jeremy Irons will talk about themotivation for becoming an actor.

Actors Enrique Alcides (Spain) and Maria Gracia Cucinotta (Italy) willdiscuss how success can be influenced by the right agent in a session titled ThePower Of My Agent.

BaltasarKormakur from Iceland and Thekla Reuthen (Shooting Star fromthe Netherlands) will then talk about a typical situation for many actors inEurope: Acting In Small Countries - Problems And Advantages.

After a keynote by Russianactor and director Nikita Mikhalkovon Seducing The Audience, the second part of the conference will kickoff with a conversation between Hungarian director István Szabo and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgaard: EuropeanStars: Illusion Or Reality'

In the session CrossingBorders the actors Michele Placido(Italy) and Jerzy Stuhr(Poland) will talk about their experiences as actors who cross over to direct.And to close Franka Potente(Germany) and Jean-Marc Barr(France) will talk about finding your place in the film industry: How ToSucceed In A Competitive Environment.
