Alvarado-Brown will oversee deal-making for Overture's productions and acquisitions and run day-to-day business affairs. He will report directly to Overture chief operating officer Danny Rosett.
Alvarado-Brown most recently served as senior counsel for HBO, and began his career in entertainment as vice president in the business and legal affairs department at MGM Studios.
'Justin's expertise in business affairs as well as in legal and financial matters is highly regarded,' Rosett said. 'I've enjoyed working with Justin in the past and we're thrilled to have him on board at Overture.'
Overture Films recently green-lit the romance Last Chance Harvey starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. The slate includes the dramas Ferris Wheel with Charlize Theron, 105 Degrees And Rising, and the comedy Mad Money starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes.
