The TWC executive has been appointed COO of international distribution, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman announced on Tuesday [5].

Kramer will work closely with president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Steve Beeks and will commence work in April once his contract as president of business and legal affairs and general counsel at TWC expires.

The new arrival will help Wachsberger continue to grow all aspects of the international film business including acquisitions and packaging, distribution and marketing, business affairs, co-production and co-financing and territory relationships.

He reports to Wachsberger and Friedman. His responsibilities will complement those of Sean Kisker who was recently promoted from evp to general manager of the Motion Picture Group and who continues to spearhead Lionsgate’s film deal-making and financing initiatives with particular focus on North America.

“The international theatrical marketplace offers tremendous growth opportunities for Lionsgate, and Andrew is ideally qualified to help us continue to build our momentum around the world,” said Wachsberger and Friedman. “He is a seasoned business executive who brings multidisciplinary expertise in all aspects of film acquisitions, co-production, co-financing, marketing and distribution to the continued growth of our worldwide feature film operations.”

Prior to TWC Kramer served as evp of business affairs and operations at Warner Independent Pictures.

In a press release Lionsgate said its 2012 films grossed a record $2.5bn worldwide.
