Arthouse Films has acquired worldwide rights to the documentary Beautiful Losers directed by Aaron Rose and co-directed by Joshua Leonard.

Arthouse will partner on the distribution strategy with Sidetrack Films, which has already opened the film in conjunction with Nike Sportswear in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Arthouse plans to support and expand Sidetrack Films and Nike Sportswear's theatrical release pattern throughout autumn and winter. A DVD release on the Arthouse Films label and a digital release via Arthouse Films' deal with Apple iTunes will follow. Phantom Films recently released the film in Japan.

Beautiful Losers premiered at 2008 SXSW and charts the rise to prominence of a collective of artists from the worlds of skateboarding, graffiti, punk rock and hip-hop and features interviews with Harmony Korine and artists Ed Templeton and Mike Mills, among others.

David Koh and Lilly Bright brokered the deal on behalf of Arthouse Films and Curiously Bright Entertainment with Jared Moshe and Richard Lim of Sidetrack Films for the film-makers.

Beautiful Losers won the special jury prize at the Cinevegas Film Festival and the Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

Rich Lim, Jon Barlow, Chris Green and Noah Khoshbin produced and Ravi Anne served as executive producer with Moshe.
