Arthouse Films has acquired North America and the majority of international rights to Christina Clausen's documentary The Universe Of Keith Haring.

Clausen made the film with the cooperation of the Haring Estate and presents an intimate portrait of the celebrated artist that includes testimony from Yoko Ono, Andy Warhol, David LaChapelle and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Arthouse plans a fourth quarter 2008 release and will distribute internationally through its output deals with Mongrel Media in Canada, Madman Entertainment in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and Revolver Entertainment in the UK and Ireland.

David Koh and Lilly Bright negotiated the deal on behalf of Arthouse Films and Curiously Bright Entertainment with producers Paolo Bruno of Overcom, Eric Ellena of French Connection Films and Clausen.

'We really fell in love with this film and had such a deeper appreciation for the kind of work and the amount of work Keith Haring created over a very short span of time,' Koh and Bright said. 'This is a movie anyone interested in art and documentaries will absolutely love. We are proud to be working with the producers and the director on the release of their film.'

The film is a co-production between Italy's Overcom and France's French Connection Films in association with Absolute Films of Italy.
