Arthouse Films has picked up worldwide rights excluding Canada to the late Emile de Antonio's documentary Painters Painting - The New York School: 1940-1970.

The film has never aired before on TV in the US and Arthouse will release a restored and remastered version for the first time on DVD through its various global output deals.

The film will go out in the US through Arts Alliance America, the UK and Ireland through Revolver and Australia, New Zealand and South Africa through Madman Entertainment.

Painters Painting presents interviews with luminaries from the New York art scene, many of whom were de Antonio's personal friends. Talking heads include Willem de Kooning, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Barnett Newman and Leo Castelli.

David Koh and Lilly Bright negotiated the deal on behalf of Arthouse Films and Curiously Bright Entertainment with Ron Mann of Sphinx Productions on behalf of the estate of Emile de Antonio.
