UK distributor Artificial Eye has announced several further acquisitionson the back of Cannes.

The deals are for Douglas Gordon and Philippe Pareno's Zidane: A 21stCentury Portrait, Sydney Pollack's Sketchesof Frank Gehry and CorneliuPorumboiu's Camera d'Orwinner 12:08: East of Bucharest.

Artificial Eye plans aSeptember 29 release for the Zidane documentary, andthe other launches haven't been set yet.

These deals add to a busyCannes for Artificial Eye, the company also previously announced that it hadacquired UK rights to Nuri Bilge Ceylan'sClimates (Iklimler),Paulo Sorrentino's The Friend Of The Family (L'Amico Di Famiglia), Aki Kaurismaki's LightsIn The Dusk (Laitakaupungin Valot),Denis Dercourt's The Page Turner (La Tourneuse De Pages) and Abderrahmane Sissako's Bamako (The Court).

As reported before Cannes, venerable arthousedistributor Artificial Eye has been acquired by Act Entertainment Group, ownerof Curzon Cinemas, and KnatchbullCommunications Group.
