Arts Alliance America has picked up domestic rights to VBS.TV's documentary Heavy Metal In Baghdad by Eddy Morretti and Suroosh Alvi.

The film follows the Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda from the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 to present day and will be released theatrically in spring.

Arts Alliance America president Joe Amodei negotiated the deal with Josh Braun of Submarine Entertainment on behalf of VBS.TV.

Amodei said Heavy Metal In Baghdad was 'the only film that truly documents the artists' plight in this war-torn country. It is like no other rockumentary on the market.'

Lumina holds international rights.
